Becoming your own voice critic is essential, yet a difficult task in singing techniques. It is essential in order to avoid disgraceful stern criticism in auditions or competitions. I am talking of criticisms and sometime disgrace met by Simon Cowell of American Idol, and other critics of talent hunts. These could have been minimized if not totally avoided had the singers learned to develop critical ears for their singing.
